Illustrated Index to Tutorials and Ponderings

Below, in no particular order, are thumbnail photos that will take you to my tutorial and notes pages.  The notes pages don't have full tutorials but they do have information about other sources of information, i.e. books, magazines or webpages, as well as things I have figured out through trial and error.   To visit any page click on the photo. (Note that there is more than one photo for some of the pages.)

    1. The link should take you to the page where I talk about assembling the 3 sided three wise men ornament but there is no pattern on that page. I adapted a pattern that is in the book "Sue Cook's Christmas Cross Stitch Collection" to make these ornaments

    1. Hello. I drew my pattern using an ornament that I was given as a gift. It has recently been pointed out to me that the ornament that was given to me was probably made from a pattern that was in the book "Christmas Quilts and Crafts" by Eleanor Burns (c. 1995). There was some debate as to whether or not my pattern violated copyright (because I didn't use images or words from the book, because one can't copyright a method of construction and because I used a different method of construction) but because I was told that the finished project significantly resembled the finished product in the book, and therefore could be deemed a derivative product, I decided to remove my paper piece Santa pattern from my blog.

If you can find a copy of the book you should be able to easily draw a paper pieced version of the pattern.

  12. Wow, so many pieces of your cross stitch. I'm exploring your links. I used to do lots of cross stitch but mostly just quilt now. Beautiful work.
